Pelemix- coco Coir Substrates Professionals
HIGHEST QUALITY TOMATO GROW BAGS
Pelemix offers a big variaty of sizes and coir mixes for growing tomatoes in grow bags.
The size of tomato grow bag and coir mix should be selected according to climate, irrigation system, irrigation method and duration of growing period.
Production process is carefully monitored by our QC system and our R&D center is equipped with our own lab.
Pelemix in-house team of agronomists keeps a field research process to develop new products to meet the high yield potential of greenhouse crops and grower’s preferences.
Tomato grow bags are coco coir compressed slabs, wrapped by a polyethylene white/black bag.
Available dimensions are from 8 cm up to 16 cm high and from 10 cm up to 40 cm wide. The length is up to 120 cm.
Planting and drainage holes can be ordered in advance or easily made at the plot.
Coco coir tomato grow bags enable the grower full control over the crop.
Coco coir hanging tomato bags are easy to handle in the greenhouse and are being used as a complete growing system.

Coco Coir Material Types
16 mm
16mm Cocopeat is one of Pelemix’s leading products and it is recommended for use in hot climate regions (Such as Spain, Mexico, South-Africa, Australia e.t.c). 16mm sieving is exceptional in terms of its air-water ratio. Although the Cocopeat has adequate water capacity it also maintains a balanced air capacity as well. Pelemix’s pressing technology guarantees even distribution of the different segmentations inside the grow bag. By doing so, Pelemix creates a uniform grow bag that allows air and water to be distributed equally across the growing media.
P.L.F Coco Coir
The P.L.F. Cocopeat is a combination of crush coco and 16 mmcoco pith materials. The presence of crushed coco provides a more drainable medium and therefore is more suitable for regions with both hot and cold growing periods (Such as U.S.A. and Turkey). Here, once again, Pelemix’s pressing technology guarantees uniform distribution of the two Coir types inside the tomato grow bag. Combination of the two Coir types guarantees a balanced air and water distribution along with faster drainage.
pre-planting
Placing Growbags on a Gutter
It is important to place the growbags on a gutter or any other form of draining system. It will guarantee effective drainage of the growbags and growing structure (Greenhouse, Net-house etc.).
If the plot surface is covered, it will help controlling weeds and will slow the development of some insects.
Expantion of Growbags
The size of the expanded tomato grow bag is determined by the size of the plastic bag. Make sure the growbag gets enough water to expand to its final volume.
Arrow Drippers and Draining Holes
Make at least 3 draining holes in each side of the growbag. Make the hole at height 0 on the side of the growbag (Only if growbags were not bought with draining holes).
Pelemix Grow Bags are provided with planting and drainage holes in accordance to the client’s request.
Calcium Nitrate treatment
Wait 48 hours and rinse the Growbags with clean water until the drainage EC is similar to your water EC.
After Planting
EC and PH Value
After planting, EC of irrigation water is determent by base water EC and the nutrition requirements of the plants.
Tomatoes are relatively tolerant to EC and pH values but it is highly recommended to monitor pH and EC values of irrigation water and drainage water. Make sure that the Values stay within the desired range.
Monitoring the difference of EC and pH in irrigation water and drainage is critical for good management and achieving the targeted yield.
Drainage Water
During all stages of growth, the fertigation solution must contain all nutrients.
Today’s technology offers advanced tools for crop management. Installing methods such as monitring the moisture continuous change in the tomato grow bags and weight continuous change, will enable better crop management.
